Gered Mankowitz (b. 1946) Born in London, Mankowitz became the official photographer for The Rolling Stones in the mid-1960s. During that time, Mankowitz documented not only the band’s rise to stardom, as they performed and recorded, but also created covers for albums such as Out of Our Heads and the iconic Between the Buttons . Mankowitz has published several books of photographs of The Rolling Stones , Jimi Hendrix and other rock legends.
